During the treatment, a small amount of blood is drawn and processed to isolate the platelet-rich plasma, which is packed with powerful growth factors.

As PRP uses the patient’s own blood (autologous), there is no risk of allergic reactions or transmissible diseases. PRP should be avoided in patients who have low platelet counts, skin or systemic infections or who are on blood thinning medications.
