Skin Treatments for Ageing Skin

As we age, our skin undergoes structural changes due to a natural decline in collagen, elastin, and cellular renewal. This results in fine lines, wrinkles, dullness, uneven texture and volume loss. These changes are often gradual, but with proper support, we can help restore skin vitality, allowing you to feel refreshed, confident, and comfortable in your own skin.

At Geelong & Surfcoast Skin, we provide personalised strategies designed to address your specific concerns—whether that involves softening fine lines, refining skin texture, correcting discolouration, or restoring volume loss. Our treatment plans may include advanced medi-facials to enhance tone and texture, collagen induction therapy (skin needling) to stimulate dermal remodelling, and collaborative care with our cosmetic nurse for tailored non-surgical solutions.

From your initial consultation, we’ll create a clinically guided plan to address signs of ageing, combining prescriptive home care, in-clinic treatments and lifestyle considerations to support healthy skin ageing.

Ageing Skin FAQs:

What is the downtime from these treatments?

As we are addressing the structure of the skin, you can anticipate redness and dryness in the skin for up to 72 hours post-treatment. Makeup can be applied the following day.

Do I need to prepare my skin prior to treatment?

Yes. Skin prepared with retinol, exfoliants, vitamin C, and SPF will be healthier and more responsive to dermal therapy treatments.

When should I start seeing results?

We recommend a course of 6 treatments at 1-month intervals. Results are often seen from 3 months, with the best results at the conclusion of the 6-treatment course.

Are non-surgical solutions with the nurse essential?

No. Results are still achieved with dermal therapy treatments, but will be more noticeable 3-6 months post-treatment. Non-surgical treatments, provided by our cosmetic nurse, can offer a faster-acting solution for addressing your concerns for those interested.
