As PRP uses the patient’s own blood (autologous), there is no risk of allergic reactions or transmissible diseases. PRP should be avoided in patients who have low platelet counts, skin or systemic infections or who are on blood thinning medications.
PRP hair loss treatment often involves 3 sessions one month apart, followed by 6-12 monthly maintenance sessions. Increased hair growth and thickness is often seen 3 to 6 months after a treatment cycle.
