Chemical Peel FAQs

What is a chemical peel?

A chemical peel is a professional skin treatment that uses exfoliating acids or enzymes to remove dead skin cells, stimulate cell turnover and improve overall skin texture and tone. Peels vary in strength and are selected based on your skins needs.

What skin concerns can chemical peels treat?

Chemical peels aim to stimulate natural exfoliation of the skin, encouraging growth of healthy new cells. Therefore, we can address concerns of texture, tone, dullness, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and ageing as well as congestion and breakouts.

Are chemical peels suitable for all skin types?

Yes. We offer a range of peels from gentle and enzymatic to more active formulations for deeper resurfacing allowing us to treat concerns on all skin types.

What can I expect during the treatment?

Your skin will be cleansed, primed and analysed before applying the chemical peel solution. You may experience tingling and heat while the peel is active. You may experience some sensitivity and flushing for up to 24 hours after treatment.

Will my skin peel? What is the downtime?

Our mild chemical peel solutions have minimal to no downtime, where you may experience some dryness and tightness to the skin in the 3-5 days post-treatment. Our more advanced solutions may result in mild to moderate shedding of dead skin cells in the 3-5 days following treatment. It is essential to avoid UV exposure during this time.

How many treatments will I need?

You may notice smoother, clearer skin after a single chemical peel, but the best results are typically achieved over time. Most clients benefit from 3–6 sessions scheduled 2–4 weeks apart, depending on the peel strength and your specific concerns. Your clinician will outline the ideal treatment intervals during your consultation.

Can I combine a chemical peel with other treatments?

Yes! Chemical peels can be combined with other modalities to enhance results and are included in our medi-facial treatments. Your clinician will guide you on the best combination for your specific skin type and concerns.
